This week has been a busy one of campaigning ahead of both the Metro Mayor and Police & Crime Commissioner elections on May 2nd, as well as campaigning for candidates who will be standing for Labour in the next General Election.

I’ve been out in Garston talking to constituents around York St to hear about local issues, including concerns raised with me about developments on Garston Industrial Estate. It was a great response on the doorstep with people telling me they’ve had enough after 14 years of Tory Government.

At the weekend I was out in Penny Lane campaigning for Steve Rotheram for Metro Mayor and Emily Spurrell for Police & Crime Commissioner, both of whom have done a fantastic job and who I would urge you to vote for on May 2nd. It was again a very good response with overwhelming support for Labour.

I was also out on the doorstep in Plymouth Moor View on Thursday with Labour parliamentary candidate Fred Thomas, a former Captain in the Royal Marines who left the Marines to stand for Labour and who will make a great MP if elected. Fred, who still serves in the Territorial Army, is one of a number of Labour candidates in the next election with military experience.

Thanks to everyone who joined me in campaigning this week. If you’d like to come out and campaign for the Labour Government we so desperately need please look out for campaign dates and sessions and come along and join us.
