On Friday I was pleased to attend Speke Adventure Playground alongside Lord Mayor Mary Rasmussen to celebrate The National Lottery’s Community Fund awarding them £470,533 to help continue delivering the youth programmes and outreach work across Speke that has been at the heart of the local community since 1975.

The Venny’s main hub is on Conleach Road where the dedicated team deliver activities including art, learning, sports, creativity and excursions that all support personal development. They also deliver services at All Saints and St Ambrose, as well as providing detached youth work around Speke that works with local young people to provide opportunities and to help young people build aspirations for their future. It was good to see on Friday so many local children enjoying the facilities and to see them celebrating the lottery award.

I have been proud to support Speke Venny since I was elected and look forward to helping them as they look to reimagine their facilities with funding they have received ahead of their 50^th anniversary celebrations next year.
