On Monday I was pleased to support Steve Rotheram’s Metro Mayor re-election campaign launch at The Spine in the Knowledge Quarter. The election is on May 2^nd and, if re-elected, Steve will continue his great work as Metro Mayor with an optimistic, forward-looking agenda for jobs, housing and transport.

Steve has pledged to deliver a truly integrated transport network by 2028, becoming only the second area in the country to take back control of our buses, and cement the region’s position as the country’s renewable energy coast, including a business case for Mersey Tidal Power. He also pledged to establish our area as a pioneer in the AI For Good movement that will revolutionise public services locally. He has been a strong voice for Liverpool and the region both nationally and internationally since his election to the role in 2017.

I will be voting for Steve Rotheram on May 2^nd so that he can continue the progress he has championed over the last seven years. Emily Spurrell will also be up for re-election as Merseyside Police & Crime Commissioner on the 2^nd May and I will be supporting her as well.
