Maria Eagle MP Hunts Cross Primary School

On Friday I visited Hunts Cross Primary School’s Class 4B to talk to students about climate change. The class had written letters to me last year about their climate change fears and I wrote back to them individually. They then invited me to come into class to talk to them.

The students asked really good questions about not only climate change but about what it’s like to be an MP and how I get to and from Parliament every week. What it showed was that, even in primary school, children are keenly aware of the threat climate change presents and that their generation will unfortunately have to fight rising temperatures in the future. They had valid concerns but I was pleased to see they also had thought about possible solutions, including their own pledges around what they can do personally to help.

It is always good to visit local schools in the constituency and I told the class I will keep in touch with them and visit again.
