I followed up my visit to Grow Speke last week with a visit to South Liverpool Homes’ Market Place at Parklands Library to see where some of their freshly-grown produce goes next.

As you can see in the video above Market Place is invaluable for families and constituents struggling to make ends meet in the Tory Cost of Living Crisis.

For just three pounds a week Market Place members can choose around fifteen pounds worth of food items donated by the likes of Morrisons and B&M, as well as free toiletries. They do a really good range, not just the usual dry goods and essentials offered by food banks, with brand names alongside the fresh fruit and vegetables Grow Speke provides. Market Place makes a massive difference to local people and I was pleased to meet some of the staff and volunteers who give up their time to support others.
