St Georges Hall Remembrance Sunday
St Georges Hall Remembrance Sunday

I was honoured to attend this year’s Remembrance Sunday commemorations and lay a wreath for those who have fallen locally on behalf of Garston and Halewood. It is always humbling to join colleagues at The Cenotaph on St George’s Plateau alongside veterans, serving members of the armed forces, the Royal British Legion, families of those who have fallen in recent conflicts and other elected officials.

I also planted a Remembrance Stake on behalf of Garston and Halewood in the Constituency Garden of Remembrance at Parliament.

Liverpool has a proud history of service and every year at this time we fall silent to remember those who gave their lives during two World Wards and conflicts around the world since. This year’s Remembrance Sunday marked 40 years since the Falklands War. We must never forget the price those we have lost paid in the name of peace.
