I was pleased to visit the Millennium Centre in Belle Vale to meet Viv Graham and see the community work going on there. You may have seen Viv this week showcasing their services on BBC’s Northwest Tonight.

At the heart of the Centre is their community café, which opens daily and is a hub for residents to call in and get affordable, nutritious food. People can access a range of services or weekly groups, like Knit & Natter or the pensioners group. There are new tenants in the Centre like Kindred Minds and The Life Rooms.

As I’ve been hearing recently from groups around the constituency demand for these services is just going up as energy prices and the cost of living soar.

The work Viv and her team of staff and volunteers does is invaluable to the community in Belle Vale. There are many local people who would be lost without them and the caring and supportive help they deliver on a daily basis.

On the 22nd October the Centre is holding a Halloween event that is open to all. You can hear more about that above.
