Jack Stamper
Jack Stamper

I was very sad this week to hear that long-standing Labour Party member and activist Jack Stamper has passed away. Well known as a keen amateur local historian, he was particularly interested in Liverpool’s maritime heritage and could often be seen campaigning for memorials to ships lost at sea such as the Lancastria and have tours and talks at the Museum of Liverpool. Many of you will remember him from campaigns past and from his dedication both to the party and getting Labour candidates elected. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones.  I know you will share my sadness at his loss.

Jack’s family have asked me to pass on the details of his funeral, which will take place on Thursday 9th December at 10.00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi, Earp Street, Garston, L19 1RT. Family flowers only are requested but donations can be made to Motor Neurone Disease.

Cards can be sent to The Stamper Family, 134 Booker Ave, Liverpool L18 7HF.
