It was great to visit Speke Hall alongside Cllr Tom Cardwell and here about both the history of the hall and how it ties in with the local community.
As well as being an oasis of calm in an urban setting – especially the fantastic yew trees in the hall’s inner courtyard, which continued to drop water after the rain had stopped – Speke Hall highlights the social history of the area and how it still impacts local people today. It’s a local resource that all should be proud of, and as a community we need to protect it for future generations.
Thanks to Simon Osborne for showing us round and for sharing with us his plans for the future. If you get chance to visit, please do.
