It was great to visit the fabulous Sunflower Maze in Knowsley, where Olly Harrison and his team have once more created a fun family day out that also raises money for good causes (last year it raised over £40,000 for NHS charities, a figure they would like to beat this year).

The maze, which once again this year has an NHS theme, is set in acres of farm land and really is a great place to visit. Olly, who you can follow on You Tube, took years to perfect the maze but it’s now a popular attraction with visitors from all over the country. It’s well worth visiting, whatever your age, and it’s an absolutely stunning sight.

It was also good to catch up with Olly and hear how his farm has been doing during the pandemic. Supporting our farmers is important and they deserve our thanks for keeping our stores stocked during COVID-19. The farming industry faces challenges from changing regulations and climate change, so I’ll be keeping in touch to see how Olly and our other farmers are doing.
