On Wednesday the 9th June I took part in the Opposition Day debate on protecting the public and ensuring justice for victims.

That the Hillsborough families and survivors have been denied justice after 32 years with the collapse of the recent trials is appalling, and we must work to ensure that this cannot happen again to anybody else. I have a bill ready that would provide an Independent Public Advocate at an early stage of any public disaster to ensure that the type of cover-up we have seen with Hillsborough cannot happen again.
