Yesterday, I questioned the Prime Minister on what plans he has to support those who were made redundant in anticipation of the furlough scheme ending at the end of October as originally planned.

Once again the Government has waited until the last possible minute to act, meaning a huge amount of anxiety for people across the country and in many cases jobs lost. The Tories are tanking the economy because they don’t listen to the science and they won’t listen to Labour. They are stuck in a cycle of bluster, denial and then running to catch up. The Prime Minister’s stubborn refusal to address problems of his own making until the last possible minute is risking lives, costing jobs and causing chaos.
