A graph showing the reduction in Government funding to Liverpool and Knowsley Councils

On Monday 11 May, I asked the Prime Minister to make good on the Government’s original promise to reimburse Liverpool and Knowsley Councils for the full costs of COVID-19. Both Local Authorities have only been reimbursed half of what they’ve spent tackling Coronavirus, despite the Government initially saying they’d give Councils whatever they needed.

Boris Johnson said he’d go away and look at the cases of Liverpool and Knowsley – let’s see what he comes back with, if anything.

You can read my question and the Prime Minister’s reply here.

Following my question, I’ve also written to the Prime Minister to reiterate how Government needs to reimburse our Councils, as his Government promised at the beginning of the Coronavirus outbreak. You can read my letter below.
