I am proud that the Allerton Oak in Calderstones Park in my constituency has been named Woodland Trust England’s Tree of the Year with 34% of the votes.

The tree has survived for hundreds of years and has a rich history dating back to medieval times. It really is a magnificent landmark and well-deserving of the prize.

I would highly recommend that anyone interested pops over to Calderstones Park to take a look at this landmark tree and support our local parks.
