PM Avoids My Question on Policing Cuts on Merseyside

Another non-answer and more waffle from the Prime Minister – this time on policing numbers on Merseyside 👇⬇️. Our police have lost 1,120 officers due to Tory cuts, but have been told they're only allowed to recruit 200 more officers going forward! This is a drop in the ocean compared to forces in places like leafy Tory Surrey, who've been told they can recruit 78 new officers – despite only losing 8 in total since 2010! The PM skirts round my question as to why this is, instead muttering something about further recruitment of police in future. Was that 7,000 or 8,000 more police Prime Minister? 🤔

More waffle and another non-answer from the Prime Minister – this time on policing numbers on Merseyside. During the debate on the Queens Speech, I was able to ask the PM why Merseyside police have only been told to recruit 200 new police officers despite having lost 1120.

The PM implied that Merseyside would be doing much better in the next two tranches but even if we were to get 200 a year for the next two years, that would still be under half what have been lost. meanwhile, leafy Surry has been told to recruit 70 more than they have lost since 2010 in the first year! Merseyside is being penalised by the Tories again.
