Every year I open the fantastic South Liverpool Christmas Jobsfair organised by the local Job Centre Plus team that offers jobs to hundreds of people from all over South Liverpool.

Overall 250 jobs were on offer giving people a much needed boost in income during the Christmas period. Often it just takes one job and a bit of experience to launch an entire career and job fairs like this give my constituents a huge opportunity to get into the world of work, build their confidence and find more work in the future.

Huge credit also goes to Russell Hall, the manager or the Mersey Retail Park and Joe Cummings from South Liverpool Homes both of whom put huge effort into making the event a success. I look forward to attending the event next year to see how it has grown!
