Thank you to Norman Pannell Primary School’s Year 5 Class for inviting me to speak to them about their campaign against plastic pollution. Many of the pupils wrote to me about this issue and it was great to be able to speak to them directly about the damage plastics are doing to our oceans and environment.

The pupils are hoping to convince their school governors to ban single use plastic bottles from the school as part of their efforts to tackle this problem. It a great sign for the future that children are taking issues like pollution and climate change seriously and even doing their bit to help prevent it.

I look forward to hearing whether the school has banned plastic bottles in the near future. Thanks again to the teacher and pupils of Norman Pannell Primary School!
