On Thursday people from all over the country came to Westminster as part of the “Time is Now” Climate Change Lobby. This is the biggest lobby that has ever been organised and it was great to speak to some of my own constituents who had travelled to London for the event.
The effects of climate change are only just starting to be felt here in Britain but over the next decade we will see climate change having a huge negative impact all over the world. We simply cannot stand by and let this happen – many people talk about the poor legacy we will leave the next generation, but the reality is that climate change is already destroying lives.
I assured the Garston and Halewood delegation that I will continue to support any legislation and policies that reduce carbon emissions and polluting waste. Everyone, all over the world, must come together to beat climate change and give the next generation a bright future.
