Maria Eagle MP A Strong Voice in Tough Times
Following the news on Thursday that the judge in the Duckenfield case has ordered a retrial I said:
“I am pleased that the inconclusive end to the manslaughter trial of the match commander in charge of the Hillsborough ground in 1989 when 96 people were unlawfully killed has led to the judge ordering a retrial. Though it is difficult for all involved, not least the families of those who died and the survivors of events on that day, it is an understandable decision.”
“I look forward to justice being done in this matter.”
