The future of Netherley Health Centre in Belle Vale is now secured two months after it became one of three surgeries in my constituency threatened with closure due to the withdrawal of the provider. It’s fantastic news that it is staying open for local residents, and all thanks to the hard work of local Labour Councillors and residents who delivered my surveys, secured hundreds of petition signatures and put pressure on the CCG to keep it open.

All three Surgeries, in West Speke, Garston and Netherley, have been taken over by the Dr Jude’s Group. There will be no change to the services provided and no need to move to another GP Surgery. If patients have any questions for Dr Jude she will be holding question and answer sessions for each surgery, details are below.

  • Garston – Monday 13 May 2019, 12.30pm to 1.30pm: South Liverpool NHS Treatment Centre, 32 Church Road, Garston, L19 2LW
  • Netherley – Wednesday 15 May 2019, 12.30pm to 1.30pm: Netherley Medical Centre, Middlemass Hey, L27 7AF
  • West Speke – Tuesday 21 May 2019, 12.30pm to 1.30pm: The Dunnies, Hale Rd, L24 1UG

One of the key problems affecting these surgeries was low patient numbers. Now that they are staying open I would like to ask any local residents not currently registered with a GP to sign up to their local surgery. This will open up more funding for the surgeries and secure their long-term future. Local GPs are vitally important and deserve our support. Thanks again to everyone who played their part in the campaign to #saveoursurgeries.
