This week I showed my support for Heart Unions Week. It is a week when the TUC celebrate the work trade unions do every day to make workplaces safer, fairer, more equal and better for working people.

It is also a great chance for the TUC to highlight a key issue that is particularly affecting workers in the UK. This year they are ramping up their calls to ban exploitative Zero-Hour Contracts which have added dangerous uncertainty to so many jobs up and down the country.

I fully support the vital work done by trade unions everyday. As Labour members it is absolutely essential that we support the work they do in helping those workers who are exploited or mistreated by employers.
