On 15th March I get another chance to present the Tyred bill for a second reading. The Government have blocked this time and time again, but with support for a ban on old tyres growing daily I hope this time will be different. During Transport questions on Thursday, I asked Minister Jesse Norman to support my bill on the 15th and stop the objections to its second reading.

Transport Questions – Tyred

On 15th March I get another chance to present the Tyred bill for a second reading. The Government have blocked this time and time again, but with support for a ban on old tyres growing daily I hope this time will be different. Today during Transport questions, I asked Minister Jesse Norman to support my bill on the 15th ⬇️ and stop the objections to its second reading. Yet again, his response was completely noncommittal. When our Labour Shadow Transport Minister Karl Turner MP pressed the Minister again to support the bill, he was given the same poor response. This just isn’t good enough. We know that #OldTyresKill so Frances, Tyred and I will continue to fight until the Government agrees to ban them.
