Monday was Postal Worker’s Day, and every year I visit posties in my constituency to thank them with a bottle of whisky for all the hard work they do over the Christmas period making sure everyone gets their cards and presents. Postal workers across the UK play a vital role in keeping people connected and making sure things get to where they need to be on time, serving 29 million addresses throughout the year, 6 days a week.

Christmas is an especially busy time of year for postal workers, with an huge increase in demand for their services over the festive period. However, despite the increased pressures they continue to do an excellent job day in, day out right up until Christmas day. I’m proud to support the work they do and stand up for my local posties on National Post Worker’s Day.
