On Friday I met the CEO of Claire House Hospice in my constituency who spoke to me about how the 10 year freeze in the Government hospice grant has impacted their ability to provide vital services to the terminally ill children in their care. Despite demand increasing for their services over the years, the amount of money they receive has remained the same. Currently, for every £1 they receive from the Government they deliver £4 in much needed care.
Claire House Children’s Hospices provide essential services that offer much needed support and care during extremely difficult times for the children and families who rely on them. These are families in great need and it’s time the Tories provided the proper funding needed to ensure the support they receive is maintained and reaches every family with a child who needs it. That’s why I’m proud to back the charity’s campaign to increase funding to make sure they reach every child who needs their care.
