I visited Diane Barker and her team at the Marie Curie hospice in Woolton. They do great work keeping people with terminal conditions out of hospital, giving them rehab where possible and provide a place where people can be looked after out of hospital during the final phase of their illnesses.

As ever, the work they do is impressive but it is clear that the CCGs need to do more to ensure that the contracts they let recognise the work that is done appropriately and give the teams the flexibility to improve end of life care for those families that can benefit from the services on offer. I will be taking up some matters raised with me with the CCG and Department of Health.
