On Wednesday I asked Home Office Minister Caroline Nokes what the Government is doing to “right the wrongs” done to the Windrush families who’s relatives were wrongly deported under the Tories’ hostile environment policy, three of which have since died.

Windrush Generation

Terrible response from Home Office Minister Caroline Nokes ⬇️⬇️ when I asked her what the Government is doing to “right the wrongs” done to the Windrush families who’s relatives were wrongly deported under the Tories’ hostile environment policy, three of which have since died. The Minister mentions a compensation scheme for families, one that is still at consultation stage with no date given as to when it will be up and running. This just isn’t good enough.

The Minister gave a terrible answer and mentioned a compensation scheme for families, one that is still at consultation stage with no date given as to when it will be up and running. This just isn’t good enough.

The Windrush scandal should never have happened in the first place, now it seems the Government are happy to take their time in resolving the situation. Windrush families need more than kind words and apologies, compensation and answers need to be provided as soon as possible.
