On Tuesday I welcomed thenews of Toby Young’s resignation from the Office of Students. It was clear from the public outcrylead by the Labour Party that he was not fit for the role.

Mr Young has made many offensive comments on social media over a long period of time. As a former Minister for Disabled People, I was appalled by his very recent comments about disabled people and their contribution to society. With such ignorant comments in the public domainit is staggering that he was even considered for the role.
