I spoke in the Westminster Hall debate on the Mersey Gateway Bridge tolls. During the debate, Merseyside colleagues and I pressed the Transport Minister to review the current system and scrap the tolls that are causing real financial hardship for many of my constituents.

I was extremely disappointed to see that the Minister answering the debate had absolutely nothing to say about the concerns that weraised. It was an extremely disappointing response from this Government to an issue that affects people from all over Merseyside and the surrounding area.

These tolls are putting many of my constituents under intense financial strain, they are unfair, and people many are getting wrongly fined because of problems with the way the system is run. The damaging effect the tolls are having on residents who use the bridge for work, to visit family or to travel for medical treatment is unacceptable.

I made it clear that the tolls need to be reviewed and scrapped, if you agree sign my petition now –Mersey_Gateway_Petition
