Maria Eagle MP A Strong Voice in Tough Times
Today I called for a debate to press the Government to provide the extra resources Merseyside Police urgently need to deal with the recent surge in gun crime.
Merseyside police are working hard to tackle this issue, but they’re being forced to do so with less money and staff due to Government cuts.
Now they’re expected to cut a further £18m, reducing staff and officer numbers even further. It’s vital that the Government act now to help combat this issue, before more people are tragically killed. I’ll continue to put pressure on them in Parliament until they do.
