On Friday I met with Joanne Findlay and Lizanne Devonport from Unison and the Care Workers for Change “Dignity in Social Care” Campaign. They are trying to organise care home workers and specifically those working for BUPA in Arncliffe Court. I will do all that I can to help as care workers are often exploited, denied the holiday times they request, called infor workat very short notice, frightened to join a union in case they lose their jobs and generally treated badly despite doing vital work caring for vulnerable elders.

I signed up to the Charter and will do what I can to help the campaign in the Constituency and in Parliament. I have already arranged for the campaigners to meet commissioners from Knowsley and the Council are considering a motion to support this vital campaign next week.
